I love reading your book recs and have picked up several on your recommendation. I have a couple of book recs for you.

Fiction: Good Omens by Neil Gaimen and Terry Pratchett. I was fortunate enough to be able to sit down with these fine fellows at a restaurant in Madison, WI for supper many years back and have a signed copy of this amazing book.

Non-Fiction: The Worst Hard Time: The Untold Story of Those Who Survived the Great American Dust Bowl by Timothy Egan. An incredible read and, from one who's relatives lived through the Dust Bowl, incredibly insightful. Another award winning book and it's available from Amazon UK, too.

Graphic Novel: Maus by Art Spiegelman. Get The Complete Maus, which includes both Pulitzer Prize winning books. It depicts Spiegelman interviewing his father about his experiences as a Polish Jew and Holocaust survivor. The characters have been anthropomorphized for the purpose of art (the Jews being mice, the Nazi's being cats) and it is one of the most heart rending things you will ever read. I good showing for us comic book artists!

I'm a big fan of Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, so I have read Good Omens several times, it's an hilarious book! And I have the book on the Dust Bowl too, although I've not read it yet - it's on the list!

I've heard amazing things about Maus, although I'm not a comic book person, however good it might be, sadly. Somehow it just doesn't satisfy the 'reading' requirement for my brain, maybe I find the pictures distracting, who knows!
