Public holidays are good for many things...
Sure, you could celebrate this Easter with, I don't know, zombie Jesus or the Easter Bunny or worship at the altar of chocolate - I get the symbolism a little confused. Really, isn't modern western religion really just one big mash-up by this point anyway?
But I digress. For me, public holidays are without doubt intended as a period in which to catch up on all the television that became too overwhelming during the working week. I have four episodes of Black Sails, three episodes of Dig, four episodes of Mr Selfridge, single episodes of Scorpion, Hawaii Five-0, NCIS Los Angeles - not to mention I still haven't watched the Downton Abbey Christmas special!
