My brother and I are cooking dinner for my mother at this weekend, since we're both home for Mother's Day. My brother wants to try a pomegranate chicken with almond couscous recipe he's come across, so we were thinking of making it a Persian/Middle Eastern themed meal.
So, does anyone has any recommendations for other dishes we could include as well? Starters, sides and desserts, mainly. I was thinking baklava for dessert, with possibly cardamon custard or saffron ice cream - if only because I'm up for any excuse to eat baklava. But starters and sides - maybe a pilaf? Or a cucumber and yogurt salad? And pitta or flatbread.
