It was my late shift last night at work and normally I don't come in until lunchtime - basically the same hours just shifted back. But yesterday I had to come in early because I had three back-to-back tutorials with first year law students on using the law reports and statute books for research. So it was a twelve-hour workday for me yesterday, so I arranged to come in a little later this morning so I could have a bit of a lie-in and a lazy morning to recover.
Only of course I woke up at my usual time of 6am and since I didn't have anything else to do, I figured I might as well come to work and go to the gym before I started rather than this evening when I finished. So after all my plans for a lie-in to recover from my twelve-hour day, I've instead knackered myself even more.
Seriously, remind me again why I do this?
