Home sweet home...

Does anyone else find it a little jarring coming home from a holiday? It's almost as though home is not quite familiar anymore and it takes a little while to reconnect.

Driving back from the airport I commented to my brother how small everything seemed in comparison to Florida - the road was smaller, the cars were smaller, the billboards were smaller, even the trees were smaller. And home seems smaller as well. You get used to so much space in America! That is one thing I don't miss about England - it all just seems so much more cramped in comparison.

Ah well, I had a wonderful holiday. The weather was beautiful, even if we did brush the edges of Hurricane Arthur on the last day, and our flight was delayed accordingly. We did the Magic Kingdom and Epcot; we went to the Wet 'n' Wild water park; we went to the coast at St Pete's; we chilled out by the pool; I managed to meet up with mystic829 twice; and I ate a quite ridiculous amount of food. I am totally not weighing myself for at least a month now I'm back - hopefully that should be long enough to undo whatever damage I did and kid myself that hey, no weight gain!

Didn't do the Harry Potter park this time around - the new Diagon Alley expansion doesn't open until Tuesday (dammit, just missed it!) so there didn't seem much point. I'm hoping to go out again next year to see mystic829 for Thanksgiving, so hopefully I'll go then. The crowds would have been insane this time around anyway, if I had been in time for it!
