It's bad enough having a Manchester City fan in the family...

Now we might end up with one as a player!

My little cousin Matty has been picked to have a trial with Manchester City. He's only nine, but hell, they sign them on schoolboy contracts young these days. There was a scout at his last game for the youth side he plays for - he's the goalkeeper. He won man of the match, which is rare for a goalkeeper - apparently the scout said he made some of the best saves he's seen in a kid his age.

I don't know, Manchester City. Why couldn't it have been United? He grows up in a house with two brothers who support Liverpool and a father who supports United, and he ends up a City fan.

Still, Ryan Giggs was on City's books as a schoolboy before he came to United, so there's still hope.

real life: family, football: manchester united
