I'm off to a conference in Glasgow tomorrow, and I'll be staying over tomorrow night, Thursday and Friday - so that's three nights I'm going to need to feed myself! There is a restaurant/bar or two in the hotel (the Hilton) but I don't really want to spend all my time in the hotel, nor do I want to pay hotel prices! I'll be able to claim all my expenses back from work, but even so, I resent paying overinflated hotel prices.
So does anyone familiar with Glasgow have any recommendations for nice places to eat? I'm staying in the Hilton on William Street, so Merchant City/Buchanan Street etc are not that far of a walk, I don't think - about a mile? I don't really want to venture far afield, since I'll be walking - I don't trust myself to figure out bus routes in a strange city!
