Obsessing a bit this Sunday morn
With ages of the poets du jour
Notice death,
Scan back for when born
Do the math
Kreymborg made it to 83
Vachel Lindsey only 53
And me?
How much longer have I
To poet and publish? Run ‘round and read?
Oh well, it’s early yet
the coffee’s ready
and a whole fresh Times
still to be read
