I argue for lex talonis in both cases.

1. It is allowed, provided that the dead person has made this choice about the disposal of his body himself and the consenting relatives volunteer that their own bodies will be treated in the same way after their own death.

2. Since the shampoos and lotions do not save lives or alleviate human suffering there is no moral justification for inflicting pain and death on laboratory animals. No moral consideration forces these companies to conduct tests of new products (as opposed to business considerations), which is not the case for pharmaceutical industry that operates under the commandment of compassion. To make this minimally ethical, the technicians of this company should be subsidized to conduct such tests not on impersonally owned company animals, but their own pets. Our right to use animals derives from our dominion over them. The dominion means ownership and responsibility. Here the moral choice of the lab technition is dissociated from this bond ownership. It should be restored and become the individual moral choice of each individual.
