I was meaning to read
Der-shing Helmer's The Meek for a long while, then I forgot it for a year, then rediscovered it! It's good; go read it. The flow between the panels is really nice! And there's no noticeable dip in quality across pages like webcomics can sometimes do. In fact, the lighting of the architecture in chapter two is downright gorgeous. The link goes to the cover page of the first chapter because I think the most recent page looks a bit spoilerish.
Koko Be Good is up for preorder. I hate using my credit card, so I'm probably not going to. But! I think I can just place one manually at Powell's or something. Man, my sister and I are going to read Red Seas Under Red Skies together, except we're waiting b/c three stores up in Seattle didn't have it in stock. Even though I wonder if any place will feel as much like home as the ranch house I grew up in, I don't think I could ever leave Portland. Or more correctly, Powell's. I feel really spoiled.
Oh also, apparently Damon Albarn is coauthoring a comic on John Dee? Noooo. I'm sure it will be splendid (or not, who knows), but sometimes I can't help that fannish reaction. You know the one. I don't know why I even think of Dee as some sort of best-kept-secret, he is like on the first layer of findings if you research alchemy/that time period.

Do you know, I kind of hate it when singers sing on how nothing matters but family and friends and love. I mean, yeah, but people want some fucking options. The only people who are going to go on at length about such things are people who already have those options or people who are trying to console themselves. In other words, I HAVE A FIRE IN MY BELLY RAAAAARRRRRRGHHH.
