this year
kind of like Emma's awesome journal, thought it would be cool to do a visual recap of the year-
i hope everyone else has been inspired to! it's really interesting to see how people's lives have been doing visually/esspecially if you are an artist!
In January, started a webcomic :S It started out like this:
and after a big descion in how to approach me art style, it started looking like this:
and with that it has gained 2 books, a spotlight, loooads more readers and yeah, all of that stuff! it's incredably overwelming! and so weird how much it's changed over just one year =S
In Febuary/March, after buying the Incredables Art Book, i was more inspired to be more imidate with drawings. had a go at expriementing with different mediums and did more with marker, based more on a 6o's style. looking like this;-
From April through to June, Worked on a big project based on a reuniting with an old friend which happened a month or so earlier. this comic is like an attempt to play around more with the medium of comics.
in July, wound up somehow tlaking to the art director for the New Yorker, and decided to work really hard to improve the lines in me art, thanks to you lot as well! Still wokring on this;; but hopefuly it worked; thus in turn msking comics that look like this:-
in August a comic done for Harvey James' competition, although i sucked compared to the others;-
and in September finished me first anthology peice for Indie Manga!!! ='D
back to Uni after that, and since then have been focusing on doing that webcomic and working on my art in general. so these days it looks more like this;
although, this isn't rly that recent either Dx
hope you don't mind me doing this!! But idk, i found emma's interesting so i thought maybe mine might be too. Actually i tihnk pretty much everyone on me LJ Flist are people i admire more than anything xD so it's lamost like looking for aprooval of improvment! (altohugh that's a little bit sad! hahaha)
most of all i really hope there is some great improvement there from January's art to december's art. (I hope so...>.<) i don't see it peronsally! *fearful*! =S //ramble//self obsessed xD
