Bits, odds and whatnot: don't you just hate it when your boss.......

I know that no matter how much we love or not love our jobs, there will always be one thing, one task, one thing you have to do that just makes you shudder, groan and repeatedly curse whoever came up with the idea of said task.
In my case, being a teacher requires you take a certain amount of courses to keep up up to date, current, and with all that's "in", regarding education.
I know those courses are good for me, as much as I don't completely love my job, but in my case and in the case of middle school education, which is still controlled by the inept claws of an education office, those courses are worse than having to watch a marathon of Jersey Shore. Is there any educational purpose to any Jersey Shore episode? Exactly, my point.
Quite recently, my boss announced all too cheerfully, that not only was it time for one of those useless courses, but that she had selected me to teach it! I was so dumbfounded I had no time to come up with a proper and believable lie such as "oohh that day I have a doctor's appointment and i can't cancel." Or "Gee, I have a job interview and that's the only day they can see me. In fact, I was going to ask for the day off." But I didn't. Afterwards, all I wanted was to have had one of those "what I'd really like to do" moments and just say "ain't nobody got time for that" and walk out of the office.
I didn't, and like you have to do in any job, a smiled, while I cursed mentally at my luck. The worst part is, that laziness aside and having better things to do with my time than hear 5 hours of propaganda about how education in Mexico is the best and its leaders concerned with children's welfare, I have like three hours' experience being a teacher! I have no idea what the latest theory in education is because I don't really care!
The course is supposed to help public school teachers with ways on how to make the gap between English as a foreign language in public and private schools, less wide. But even so, I'm like light years away in experience.
Either way, I have to do it, do she asked me "If I wanted to" but we all know those questions from the man or woman in my case, who signs your paychecks are mere formality, there's no room for a "ain't nobody got time for that!".
Oh well, I hope that:
a) I don't confess I don't like being a teacher
b) Don't get lost trying to get to the school where we all have to meet (oh yes, that's the best part. Rather than have the course at my school and someone else teach it, my boss said "why don't I send one of my teachers instead???")
c) Or the mayans were way off in their predictions and the world ends on january 28.
