Naruto 588 *explosion*
Okay so... thoughts under cut. Spoiler heavy so if you don't want to ruin it before you have the chance to catch up then you may not want to read.
Holy shit! I forgot the Kage were fighting Madara.
All the Uchiha love that was going on for the last chapters kind of put me in a trance where I got all hearty-eyed and drooly...
But Kishi sure as hell knows how to fuck that up, doesn't he?
The chapter was good, though I felt Kishi just let the Uchiha brothers go downhill once again. I know Itachi's main goal in all of this was to stop the Edo Tensei. But he brought the brothers back together and I was thinking finally some kind of resolution, some kind of understanding, could be made between them. They worked together and pwned the baddie, Sasuke has his questions, and I know I may be getting ahead of myself cause damn Itachi still has to stop the jutsu and I know there is a possibility for some fleeting "I love you brah" moments as he fades away... but after all the development that Itachi & Sasuke went through I felt like was just .... abandoned. The Tensei dead will disappear and you can see Sasuke's apprehension, that he doesn't want his brother to go just yet. Damn it Kishi give the bros just another chapter to clear the air!!!
I mean after all the speech Itachi gave about acknowledging oneself and promising to talk to Sasuke and give him answers for him to just say "Well I have no more attachments to this world (burn!), I'm just gonna go now... and yes, yes I created you mwahahahahahaha... oops. *ahem* Well Naruto can fix that - you're not my problem baby bro."
Yeah let's totally ignore the fact that Sasuke has tried to kill Naruto and his arrogant ears don't want to hear anything the Master of Talk has to say. I get that there has to be some build. Some rise to the surely EPIC battle that will be between Naruto and Sasuke - and by EPIC battle I mean some new jutsu, crazy god-like power, and chapters worth of dialogue instead of actual fighting.
Sasuke still needs some damn closure! Why can't Kishi allow Itachi to give a bit of that to him - just a teensy smidge. I'm not even saying that anything that Itachi says will automatically make Sasuke well up with tears and huggle his brother and forgive him and Konoha for what they did. That's not going to happen any time soon. But surely - surely - Kishi won't just let Itachi go like this. He can't let Itachi fade once again as the cold-hearted man his brother believed him to be.
And it really makes me question how everything will pan out come series end. If Sasuke houses that much hate for Konoha, how can Naruto change him - especially if all his words before failed? (Oh, he knows "real pain" now [as if what he went through before wasn't real pain] so his same speech of friendship, loyalty and love is different now?) Knowing the truth only made Sasuke more vengeful. Can words really penetrate that (haha I said penetrate)? Can Sasuke really still redeem himself? With Naruto's path, I don't see him as being able to kill the Sauce. And right now, as of the latest chapter, I don't see the Sauce throwing down his sword and joining hands with his former bestie and singing songs either.
Kishi can be a great writer when he wants to be, so I'm hoping he's putting it all in reserve to give us a great fucking ending.
Don't troll us, Kishi, just don't do it.
But did anyone else see how Itachi was all "I'll be able to protect my homeland once more." Yeah, that's right, again.
Itachi is so pimp - even when dead ♥
And damn Oonoki is like geezer Naruto but like 100 times more lame.
And all this time Madara was just dicking around? Cause he unleashes the perfect form of Susano'o right at the end and plans to showcase his full strength.
Okay, so taking bets! Will we get to see some of this awesome full power of Madara or will Itachi kill the jutsu before he has time to show off?
Or will Madara get all crazy badass and Itachi will kill the jutsu just in time to save the Kage's asses?
Or will it be something else entirely?
