For those who dared to dream,

Mar 05, 2008 00:11

we remember and honor one who got us going. And while we dream on, creating new worlds to embark our imaginations upon, he has gone to find a grander adventure than we could ever imagine.

For every night spent talking about what your wizard's hairstyle should be like after a unsuccessful 4th level spell.
For the lost afternoons learning new curse words to yell at your dice.
For every visit to the library, bringing your own books to read, just so that you can write out dungeon maps and creature lists for random encounters.
For every last awkward, different, unusual, freakish, dweebish, nerdish, geekish child who dared to pick up a bag of dice and feel like they were on top of the world, that they weren't an outcast. That they weren't any of the names they've been called.

For every time I ever roll a die, even for Monopoly....
For every adventure I ever really wanted to embark upon while living in a mundane world....
For everyone who is proud to be called a geek, nerd, dork, or any other name of that type.

I thank you, and will never forget you.
