So long, and thanks for all the fish......

Saw The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy tonight, and I have to say, I really thoroughly enjoyed it. Of course, I haven't read the book in quite some time, but I also deliberately did not re-read it, knowing that making a film that was entirely true to the book would be impossible in one sitting. Generally, when a film is made from a book I like, I get really picky and overly-analytical by comparing and contrasting, and I vowed not to do that with this film. As a result, I let myself like it a lot more than I might have. It is well done, totally entertaining, and very funny. It managed to capture someof the really great bits from the book, which was nice as well. And what I appreciated most of all is that they felt no need to jazz it up with extra violence or profanity or anything. It's been a long time since I've seen a truly 'PG' movie that wasn't aimed specifically at kids. All around, I highly recommend it. I had promised a friend who couldn't make it tonight that I would see it with her too, and after seeing it once, I'm actually looking forward to the excuse to see it again.

And that's my movie review. I deny any responsibility if people see it and think it sucks, but in my humble opinion it was a lot of fun.

I really need to get some sleep now. Work tomorrow. Bleh.
