I'm trying something new. Instead of swapping postcards I am swapping packages with two different girls. One is from Austria and another is a pen pal I've had for a while from Beijing, China. I'm really excited to do it! I'll try to remember to document what I send them and I will definitely take photos of what they send me. The only thing I'm having difficulty with is what type of candy to send. I am sending my first package to Michaela is Austria and I want to find a type of candy that they might not have over where she is. We're going to be sending things like:
- A letter telling about ourselves.
- Mic cd of our favorite music
- A craft
- A drawing, painting or something of the like.
- 20 questions for the other person to answer and send back.
- patches/stickers/buttons
- Movie, music and book recommendations.
- Photos
- Candy
The opening of the Olympics was beautiful! I loved it! I like that I have someone to cheer for at each Olympics. For the summer games: Michael Phelps (He's my boy!) and the winter: Apolo Ohno.
Well, I may have found a way to afford going to California. My mom mentioned that I still have money in my college fund. I could use it to move out there, get settled and find a job and eventually go back to school. I wouldn't be dumb enough to spend it on frivolous things.
One of my friends has been accepted into the second round of America's Next Top Model. I'm not going to say who because she asked me to keep it on the down low until she finds out if she makes it through this next round. She wants me to take some head shots for her! Wow, I said I would but I'm nervous as to how they will turn out and how they will affect her chances.
I'm thinking of giving up alcohol for good. I hardly drink it and every time I do all I can think of are all the empty calories I'm consuming. Not that I drink a lot. It's like when I stopped drinking pop. I didn't drink pop a lot so it was kind of like, why keep doing it. It's not something I crave or need to drink. In the past 2 1/2 years I think I have only had pop on 2 maybe 3 occasions (When it has been a part of another drink, like with sherbet). I don't even drink on a weekly basis or even an every other week basis. So it shouldn't be hard to cut out.
I've also been looking into alternate forms of medication aside from pills and syrups. Things like herbs. It's very interesting. I have had a cold for the past 3 days and I sucked down some green tea today along with the alkaline water and I'm feeling good now. I'm breathing almost as clearly as before and my throat isn't tingling.
I love the weather. It feels like fall. It's cool and rainy. I'm loving it!
I'm trying to find copies of the movies Howl's Moving Castle and My Neighbor Totoro. I really want to see Howl's because I hear it's great. I want to see Totoro because I haven't watched it in forever. I regret buying it when I had the chance at a secondhand store in TN. The only video store we have in town has a pretty cruddy selection of older movies.
Well, I better get some sleep. I want to make it to church tomorrow. Our assistant pastor is doing a new series and I really like it. I like listening to Pastor Steve Glei's sermons. Not that I don't like Pastor Brandymore's but Pastor Glei is more animated and tends to grab my attention more.
