Belated Merry Christmas everyone! And Hannukah and Kwanzaa and everything, too.
My holiday was rather good. My mom refused to entertain this year since she did her quota last year (huge 25th anniversary party, big family Christmas, last-minute grandpa's birthday, etc.) so we did jack shit that day. We all stayed in our PJs and ate our guts out and watched movies and relaxed. It was pretty sweet.
Pressies were good, got pretty much everything I wanted:
- "Anansi Boys" and "A Regnecy Invitation"
- "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" and "North and South" DVDs (actually got two Hitchhiker's but I'm going to exchange one for a different movie)
- money
- muchos dineros in Coles giftcards
- new flannel beadspread and fleece sheets
- many Lindt Lindors
- a few tops
- a Soduko book
... and that's all I remember off-hand. My family really liked their gifts, especially my mom's Stargate SG-1 DVD and my brother's Napoleon Dynamite calendar because he apparently saw it in the store when he was doing his shopping and almost bought it for himself (but it's a good thing he didn't since I bought it back in November!).
Boxing Day I worked 7-2. Waking up at 5:30 that morning wasn't fun but it wasn't bad at all like I already said, no crazy cheap psychos or anything (instead that was yesterday). The family thing at my aunt and uncle's was as expected. The only thing of note is that my respect for my annoying cousin Daniel dropped even further. He was comparing notes with my brother about their respective trips to Europe over the summer. I guess he just spent the entire time drunk off his ass. I'm hardly agaisnt drinking, but I can't respect the kind of drinking when somebody drinks to get drunk and passes out and everything. I mean, you're in Europe and should be enjoying the sites and doing something worthwhile than just getting pissed every night like you can do at home. And he was way to enthralled by the red light district in Amsterdam than I cared to hear and the people he was with actually got prostitutes. Did I mention that Daniel's dad is an Anglican minister? Yeah. So classy friends my cousin has.
family,
christmas
