And life always goes on...

Feb 25, 2008 22:08

One comment before starting, I think they should change back the Academy Award ceremony to Monday night, it was more entertaining for me (And no, I did not watch it again)

My car just got back in the shop, I hope is nothing serious, but it was dead after delivering some books from the library. Anyway, watched Macross Plus and will say just one word: Surreal.

I have two memes, well, one asked by two people (I actually requested that one again and got some of the same stuff to respond. Anyway, you can always add new stuff to things you like)

The thing is simple, just say comment, or say something saying you want me to ask you, and I'll pick seven interest of your userinfo in which you'll elaborate why do you like them.

flamemetal89  asked me about seven stuff...

1. bakumatsu kikansetsu irohanihoheto: This is one of the best anime I have watched recently. Since I am a history freak, and I love this period from the history of Japan, I thought that it was good entertainment to watch a show saying that the entire Ezo period and rebellion after the Bakumatsu was caused by a strange a devilish artifact called "The Lord's Head." But the characters were great and the drama was so much fun I recommend this to anyone who wants to watch a great anime.

2. Drizzt Do'Urden: He is certainly the most badass of all badasses in fantasy world. As the main character of R.A. Salvatore series of books about the Forgotten Realms, Drizzt is everything a super hero is, except being good with ladies sometimes. But he is such a great an exciting character to read about. He was my first inspiration to write fantasy, and he is still the inspiration for a book I may write in the future (hopefully) He is also a Drow (dark elf) that has forsaken the treacherous way of his people.

3. Forgotten Realms: It is the Dungeons and Dragons campaign created by Ed Greenwood, and so far, my favorite. It not only features characters like Drizzt Do'Urden, Elminster and the Simbul, but it is a source for inspiration in that it allowed me to discover how much my imagination could create if motivated enough. It is a great pen&paper rpg campaign. I certainly had fun creating games for my friends from it.

4. Formula 1: I have never liked NASCAR that much. The idea of guys going at fast speed in an oval on TV is boring (but I have heard that everyone that goes to the tracks, has the time of its life, so I need to try that, hopefully) but F1 has more class, more prestige to me. I remember following it since 91, with names like Jean Alesi, Ayrton Senna, Damon Hill, Mika Hakkinen and recently Michael and Ralf Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Fernando Alonso and Nich Heidfeld. It was a great time and it still is. And it is more safe than NASCAR.

5. LSU: It stands for Lousiana State University, which I am a big fan in football. I know many will think they do not deserve to be national champions (and yes, the BCS is crooked and deserves to die) but I just love the fact that my favorite team is recognize and has great talent for football. For those who don't know, my brother in law went to school there for chemical engineering and when I met him (when I was 12 or 13) he talked to me about them. I guess I started to like them after that. I had the chance to go to two games, one at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge (Florida) and the Southeastern Conference championship game (against Georgia in Atlanta, as a birthday gift, but LSU lost that game, it was fun anyway)

This is me at the Florida Game in Tiger Stadium

6. Luca Turilli: Is a famous Italian musician, and has several projects solo and with some bands, like Luca Turilli's Dreamquest ( a good set of symphonic rock tunes with a very sexy female voice) and his most famous work and one of my favorite bands Rhapsody of Fire (Former Rhapsody) which uses Christopher Lee to be the narrator of his albums. I like them, they are what I mainly played and listen in my small and inexperience venture at garage music industry (and we had a great time) If you want to check, here is the website

7. SNES: What can be said of the SNES that hasn't been said. My memories with Super Mario World and the 96 worlds, FFVI, Tecmo Super Bowl and Street Fighter will never die.

Now, I was also asked seven interest by

dorianshrugged

1. Eyeshield 21: It is basically the story of a young boy with unusual speed to be part of an American Football team in Japan. To conceal his identity from the other teams by wearing an Eyeshield and of course, like LaDanian Tomlinson, wears number 21 Since I like sports anime, I found this title very interesting, very funny and filled with excitement and emotion. And it was funny.

2 and 3. FictionJunction Yuuka and Yuki Kajiura: This is two interests in one. It is a JPop duo composed by Yuki Kajiura and Yuuka Nanri. They have performed music for Gundam SEED, Gundam SEED Destiny, Madlax, El Cazador de la Bruja, .Hack//Roots and Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto. They also have my favorite JPop album ever (Destination)

I personally love Yuuka Nanri's voice and I love more Yuki Kajiura's compositions, for anime's like Noir, Madlax, .Hack//SIGN, Aquarian Age, Eat-Man, Tsubasa Chronicles, My-Hime/My-Otome and the last two Xenosaga games. Her music is one of the things I would be upset if they were taken away from me (it is also one of my main inspiration for writing)

4. R.A. Salvatore: He is the author of the Drizzt Do'Urden books, of the Cleric Quintet (which I have read half of a book, but was great) and even some Tarzan and Star Wars books. I love his personification of Drizzt and his group and his characterization of one of the most beloved and hated races of all Forgotten Realms, the Dark Elf.

5. Tarja Turunen: She is the former singer of the Finnish band Nightwish, and one of my favorite singers of all time. I love her voice, of a true opera soprano and the emotion she puts to the songs. No offense to Annette Olzon, current singer of Nightwish, but I love Tarja's voice a lot.

6. Submarines: I just love Denzel and Crimson Tide. I actually am a Submarine maniac. I love everything about them and want to learn even more about those machines. I guess for some, there are planes, for me there are submarines.

7. Shinsengumi: I have mentioned before that I love history, specially American history and Japanese history. I like everything about them since I read Rurouni Kenshin, and on the research of my own. I find them fascinating. Therefore, I love everything about them that I can find, in books, in anime and manga and in pop culture. I am trying to find in the bookstore books with more information about them.

Any one that want to do this, please feel free. Have fun in the time being.
