Marihuana und Haschisch sind Produkte der Hanf-Pflanze (Cannabis sativa oder ( Read more... )

the preparation used (kif) is a powder made from the dried flower of the female plant. It contains 2 to 3% THC and is smoked mixed with tobacco

It was explained to us in my class as equating to "toking". In other words, smoking the funny cigarettes ;)

I would have said the same: toke

Taken from dictionary.com--

tr. & intr.v. toked, tok·ing, tokes
To puff or smoke (a marijuana cigarette, for example) or to engage in such activity.

LOL, I love how they never say "joint." Who actually says marijuana cigarette?

Except 'toking' is the actual physical act of taking a drag from a spliff. 'kiffen' is the verb 'to smoke weed', so describes the whole thing. I don't think English has a direct translation.

yeah, the german language assistant said you use kiffen to mean that you are smoking pot. (instead of rauchen)

What is this 'Neuenglisch'? I have never heard anything like 'kif' in English, though Wiki suggests:

An alternate spelling of kief, a highly refined product of cannabis

Oh, and also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kif

Though I skimmed it and it didn't seem to say who used the word or where.

around here we use kife to describe the mixture of leaves, stems, and powder/crystals that are left at the bottom of a bag of weed. in other instances it means crappy; i.e. man this weather is kife.

thanks for the verb kiffen though, it will come in handy someday. :D
