I love Tuesdays, its the day where new cds and dvds come out. Yesterday was quite eventful.
1.New Scorpions album for 7.88! It's called, Humanity Hour one. Does that mean we'll get an hour two? I hope so! The Scorpions are the most misunderstood band in history. The band formed in the early 70's and had some of the most awesome hard rock albums at the time that most bands would copy. Yet when someone says the word Scorpions they always relate them to their 80's era, Rock you like a Hurricane, No one like you. Why does no one talk about "Taken by force" or "virgin Killer"? Do yourself a favor and pick up some old Scorpions cds. Any way the new album, long gone are the gritty days of ground breaking hard rock, Now they make music with catchy hooks and more or less pop rock. None the less this is their 22nd album I think and it's pretty damn good. worth 7.88.
2.Heaven and Hell-live at radio city musical. Basically this is Dio reuniting with Black Sabbath (to be specific it's Dio with Tony Immoi and Geezer Butler of Sabbath and Bill ward is replaced with the very awesome Vinnie Appice). The band performs all the classic Dio/Sabbath era songs with some new ones. If you already don't know how awesome Dio and the boys are I won't bother trying to convince. 5 star show. Wish I was there.
3. and last I finally pick up Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead. Not a new release but it's been tempting me for months. Blue Underground puts it out and they always do an awesome job. I have not watched it but I hear the gore factor is way up on this baby, I can't wait!
