Pissed off and Fired Up
I am beyond pissed. Beyond furious. ENRAGED! I just read an article in my school's paper that was about the Children's Health Bill that Bush fucking VETOED! The bill, which would have increased the funding for SCHIP (State Children’s Health Insurance Program) from 5 billion to 35 billion over five years, had already passed through Congress, and Bush fucking DENIED IT!
Quoted in the San Francisco Chronicle, "The policies of the government ought to be to help poor children ... and the policies of the government ought to be to help people find private insurance, not federal coverage."
What a Goddamn fucking TWIT!!! And then in USAToday, ""Poor kids first," Bush said. "I believe in private medicine, not the federal government running the health care system.""
Does he not realize that there seems to be a teeny-tiny-size-of-frickin-Mount-Rushmore problem? For people stuck in lower-income families, or in the lower middleclass part of the social classes, (and this seems to include most people these days), "private medicine" is a bitch to pay when you hardly have enough money to pay taxes, keep your kids fed and clothed with a roof over their heads. Although I'm sure it's easy to deal with when you make thousands every day from oil contracts.
God DAMN IT! This makes me so MAD!!!!!! People like my mom, who even though she worked for a medical insurance company and even now works for a frickin HOSPITAL, can't afford more than the bare minimum of health-care. She's worked hard all her life, and gotten screwed through the ass, up the rectum, and out the mouth every which way for the past ten years!! WHAT IS WRONG WITH A LEADER WHO'S ALL FOR SENDING MEN AND WOMEN OVER TO FUCKING DIE AND YET IS WORSE THAN A PLUGGED ASS-CRACK WHEN IT COMES TO CARING FOR CHILDREN? For young boys like my brothers? My cousins? My neighbor's kids? My friend's kids?
Who the hell does he think he is? He was made President by a people who's children he's now screwing over, with consequences that will stretch far into the future, when he's dead and buried. Economic analyses I've done in my econ AND my ecology AND my stats classes have shown that oil production, grain production, all peaked in the 80s. Guess what? So did everything else, like environmental efficiency, consumption, etc, etc. Oh, except for the exponential rise in the human population, fossil fuel dependence, ozone depletion, inflation, all wonderful, wonderful factor-fuck-ups.
That means, for those unable to process more than a single thought at a time, that we've been in a decline ever since the 80s. Since MY AGE has been alive, and it's going to get worse the later we go. My parent's generation fucked up royally, globally; and WE'RE the ones that have to deal with it, as the serious consequences won't come into effect until after they're pushing up daisies.
Something to think about: If all the land on Earth was spread out evenly amongst its population, we'd each get 5 acres. *sarcastic snarl* The average American has 24.
