DEN! Huge, beautiful post of beautiful postings. You rock. And that big Totoro is the Best Thing Ever and I waaaaaaaaant one.
Sigh.
Hey, but I went to Montréal this weekend and ate fabulous food and drank too much wine and beer and spent tons of money on clothes and saw a fucking excellent band and and and cuddled on a king size bed with Egyptian cotton sheets with a thread count higher that a really great batting average and and and....saw a show at the Musée des beaux-arts on Streamline design that was dead cool and man. Not NYC, but not bad, either.
*grins like a madwoman, cheers happily* Thank you so much, hon! You just made my day! Your enthusiastic appreciation just made the crazy number of hours I spent on this post worth it, so merci beaucoup. Yes, I shall certainly do more if you enjoy them! *twirls you*
(And for what it's worth, I totally want a giant Totoro too. Except it would take up about half my condo. :P)
MONTREAL! Not bad indeed! I went to McGill, so miss that city like crazy. Dear lord, they do food well there. *drools just thinking about it* And wow, crazy high-count sheets...I've always wondered what they would feel like...
BWAHAHAHA! I very much would've liked that last contest. It makes me remember Ted's slightly disturbing sex scene in season 5 of Queer as Folk. Far as I remember, it involved a doorframe and doing a handstand. O.o;;
Actually, that whole panel sounds really interesting. Trust the gays to educate the fangirls. ;)
(Oh, and how much do I love your 'Yaoi Is Gay' button?! \o/)
It was an awesome contest and panel - and the sex scene you described reminded me of a question for the panel about the possibilities of hanging and twirling from a slowly rotating ceiling fan. (My vote for the oddest question of the night!)
And I'm glad you like the button. It's totally my favourite. *glee*
Uhm... I don't think I even wanna know what inspired that particular question. I mean, I get that the bed isn't always the most exciting place (though probably the most comfortable), but seriously. Ceiling fan? O.o
Thanks for that excellent summation of AN, Den! You forgot the mandatory 6' cross-dressed sailor scout, though. I also saw Samurai Gun, another cliched series, but it had good action sequences. Anyone for a crack squad of James Bond-esque samurai who are ultra-good with guns going up against the evil forces of a corrupt government? Brilliantly novel concept, I must say. :)
And you forgot the wannabe panel we saw on wannabes with the woman who wouldn't shut up... And your expert sucking skills that you demonstrated on Friday evening. Spoon anyone? Not to mention our lack of ability to charge the right amounts for hats. The fruitless search for GitS:SAC soundtracks.
And, perhaps most shockingly, you forgot The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, perhaps the best new anime we saw this year. The wonderfully ironic voiceovers from the narrator, saying everything you've ever thought about fanservice and badly made movies in general.
NEhoo, see you tonight, and keep up the posting! Have fun with your impossible positions!
Hey :o) I'm glad you liked my panel (GS101); and as the mod you are Always free to share what you heard/learned at the panel (next year, we'll make that more clear...and we'll also try to work in some fan fic tips too ^_~)
