Song-Shaped Window

Listening to Magnet, The Day We Left Town.
And this is how it is. Woosy to begin, lulls you and settles you but never takes its eye off you and never lets loose its grip on your heart enough to let your mind wander off. And this is how it goes, orchestral sweeps in minature, green pastures freeze over, words trickling over meadows of soft diamond ice, and it's beautiful if you're looking straight at it and it's perfect if you close your eyes.
And this is where it gets you, subtlety writ large, never a trick goes by, uncaptured, set free, fluttering across the underbeat, stutter-skipping through the clicks and trips where the less sublime falls foul.
(And this is what it's all about, right here, in the heart of it, where # dreams are left for dead, and fingertip twinkles, and it all comes together in front of you, twisting throughinto the perfect timeline, and you know what you've got is all to inspire awe, and what it is is only about to get better...)

And I love this song too...
