A Prelude To Post-Poned Secretion

"Life is plain", did you know that? Maybe you'll see it. One day you'll open a book in Birmingham City Library and the words will fall to your feet.
Hello.
Maybe you'll buy a book from Oxfam and on the fifty-second page made bright by yellow high-lighter it'll tell you "futility isn't a state of mind". Because, hey, who am I to say, perhaps it's not. Look, mommy, someone's glued something upside down to that statue. "Exclamations for a mood I'm not feeling"?
On a train near you there could be a cream cap with the words "screaming in subways is all too inevitable" tattooed in black bic on the underside of the rim. a polaroid of someone you're never going to meet with "art yes! food no!" written backward in black marker on their forhead.
You get off your bus home one day thinking, for no reason you can discern, that "perhaps we could save each other"...
And y'know what. Perhaps we could.

Quotations from the statue onward reprinted, with permission, from Disinfected.
