Chuck Barris would be so proud

The gong, I think, remains an underused and awesome part of the rock and roll arsenal. Queen, masters of bombast that they were, were big on using a gong. At least they did in "Bohemian Rhapsody" and the intro theme for Day at the Races, which is tracked as part of "Tie Your Mother Down." I'm pretty sure there are gongs on Queen II and maybe on A Kind of Magic. Highlander also lent itself to bombast.

"Nights in White Satin," and by extension the Days of Future Passed album ends with a gong. I think it also began with a gong, but I never replaced my tape copy with a CD or digital copy, so I don't remember. I'm sure there's a gong somewhere in Tommy, but I don't remember where.

So what other songs have gongs?

music, just fuckin' weird
