Happy New Year everyone. I made it through yesterday's festivities relatively unscathed, and I hope you all did too. New Year's is, of course, a wonderful time for doing all that looking back, looking forward thing, but all I really want to do is clean my desk. I'll get to it at some point.
In the meantime, I thought I'd share my New Year's Revolutions with everyone. It looks, based on my last physical, like 2008 will be the Year of the Liver here at DDU HQ. I need to reduce the stress on my liver somewhat, which means I need to lose weight and cut down on alcohol. Those things are interconnected anyway, so I really only have one thing to do.
My other New Year's Revolution is to get out of debt by the end of the year, which should be possible, and is also connected with the liver thing, since spending less on food and booze would loosen up the budget a bit, or at least prevent me from running up new debt.
All this would be a little easier if Boston Sports Clubs were less annoying. I was out shopping today, so I walked into the local BSC and asked how much a membership would be. The guy wouldn't tell me unless I had a consultation. Of course, I didn't want a consultation. I wanted to know how much I month I would have to pay to get my fat ass on the treadmill four times a week. This was apparently to complicated to explain in the lobby. So I left.
Oh well. At least my New Year's Revolutions didn't involve not getting annoyed as easily as in 2007.
