Dear people of Nevada,

I refuse to pronounce your state's name in the way you deem to be correct. I grew up on the east coast, hearing it as "Ne-vah-dah" (A as in "armada"), not "Ne-VA-duh" (A as in "panda") .  The former is the way that I pronounce it, and to me it sounds right. Practically everyone on the east coast pronounces it that way. The other way reminds me of some kind of dry, low-class Boston accent...  NeVAAAAAduh.
Anyway, I think the difference in pronunciation of that middle "A" is too minor for you to be bitching about. Potato potahto. Why not think of it as a regional accent? Like, most people in the US pronounce Nevada correctly, except for the people that live there, who pronounce it with their NevAdan accent.  ;)
Haha, am I being too mean?
