(no subject)
Sunday- Cool show at the Recher. Emofied my hair, was ready to rock out.
Ok so we get there. I ran into the Boy Crazy guys, who were like hey, you have money this time (this definitely shows they read my Myspace comments lol). So I went and bought a sexy shirt and put it on right as Justin came up, and he was like HELL YEAH. So he told us they had Boy Crazy party hats so Dan and I got them, and we were the first ones. We were so pimp and original.
I wanted a Burning Rosewood demo since we were going to miss them, so I found the singer and asked him. He was like well, we only have 4 on hand so if you give it to people via burned copies you can have it, and we said sure (but I think it got scratched up in Dan's pocket later that night and doesn't work anymore though).
So, the first band was Morning for the Masses. There was like nobody fucking there so the place felt really empty because it was fairly big. Some of the Boy Crazy guys were up front watching them so we grabbed a spot behind them. The singer for MFTM was like, hey, how about them other bands like Boy Crazy, and me and Dan yelled really loud but we were the only ones. Then the dude was like, well they're right there, touch them, since they were right in front of us.
Morning for the Masses wasn't bad, but they kept alternating between acoustic and hardcore so it was hard to rock out to. What was funny was their singer dropped the mic, did a dive for it, and sang on the ground for half a song. They had a female bassist, which led me and Dan to notice, female instrument players don't seem to have a lot of stage presence.
Break in between bands, Dan saw I could smoke inside which was frickin sweet, and we talked to Boy Crazy more, Justin wanted us to be their doormen.
Next was Karmellas Game. They weren't too bad, but eh. Two guys, two girls, and they all matched. Their lead singer wasn't bad but she kept suffering from little girl voice. But what I liked was everyone in their band sang, even the drummer. Better than I expected, but still meh.
Finally, Boy Crazy. Dan and I made sure we got spots right at the very front near Justin since he is an amazing bassist. I think some water or something hit me in the back of the head, but I don't know if it was water 0.o
They were doing fucking great, and the Burning Rosewood singer even went on stage and sang a song with them, which was really cool. But they had some technical issues, so the BR singer came and was like, we're gonna do Rock Paper Scissors. But he lost to like the whole audience. So then he said he was gonna do Simon Says, and some girl said something, and he was like; Simon says SHUT THE FUCK UP. That was hilarious. We watched them finish, I headbanged a lot (and we gave our Boy Crazy party hats to some random little girls 0.o)
Fun ass night, this was more about the music than trying to do stuff with chicks, but it's all good.
