One of my good friends called me today. He had an eye infection last week. And today, during a check up with his optometrist, they discovered a serious problem, and they told him he will be going blind in a matter of weeks, if not days.
Devon had told me shortly after my car got totaled that life tends to dump a bunch of crappy stuff on us all at once, and that that’s actually a good thing because this way, with the shit all happening at once, there are always long spaces in between the crappiness where nothing very bad happens at all, and things are smooth sailing, and that she couldn’t imagine living where there were constant difficulties, without any break in between them to enjoy life.
I get her point, but really, this is just overkill. There's something that people have told her before she also shared with me - that God never gives us more than what we can handle. If that’s true, then God has way too much confidence in me.
