Hello, all.
The coolest thing happened this weekend. I got together with Francie (mirrorandmoon) yesterday because she was in town - she is away at school right now - and I gave her this necklace that I'd been keeping since October. Let me explain!
See, my whole life, I never got to have a best-friend necklace with anyone. Francie and I were always on the lookout for one, but the BFF necklaces you see are always totally cheesy and not our style. Eventually, I found one on Etsy (similar to this, but the heart breaks apart and it becomes two separate necklaces, which is the true spirit of the BFF necklace, as you know. Also, not pink. Ours is bright green), and it was perfect because we, as a pair, are obsessed with weird necklaces, and it's especially perfect for Francie, who is studying THE BRAIN. However! For the longest time, it was sold out and I was beginning to think I was just going to have to contact the girl who owns the Etsy shop and ask her to custom-make one for us.
THEN! I went to this trade show thing around October, and the girl totally happened to be there! And she had the necklace! And my life was awesome! So I bought it, thinking that YAY, WE FINALLY HAVE A BFF NECKLACE!
But it gets better! So last night, when I gave it to Francie, there was much joy and mirth. And then! Francie also had a present for me - a best friend ring! See, her thinking was that since we were never going to find a BFF necklace that suited us, we may as well just have matching BFF rings and consider that done.
Isn't that nuts? So our presents to each other were actually the same thing. Crazy talk!
In other news, I am obsessed with red lipstick and must own all the red lipstick in the entire world, ever.
