Back to the Grindstone

Well, it's back off to school again. Teriffic. At least I'm not going back with any unfinised work hanging over me head or anything. Well, there are those English quizzes I still have to make up...
At least my writing dry spell is over: I started chapter two of Damned & Devoted finally. I'll be sure to put it up here when I'm finished with it...no promises on how long that'll take though.
Last night I watched Mulan on the Disney channel. I forgot how great that movie was. Mushu and Cri-Kee and everyone else is just soo funny. And Grandmother Fa just cracked me up.

Mulan's Mother: Of all the days to be late! I should've prayed to the ancestors for luck.
Grandma Fa: How lucky can they be? They're dead!

Grandma Fa: Great; she brought home a sword. You ask me, she should have brought back a man!
Shang: *comes up* Excuse me, does Fa Mulan live here?
*wide-eyed, Grandma and Mother point wordlessly into the garden*
Shang: Thank you. *goes inside*
Grandma Fa: *staring after him* Whoo! Send me to the next war!!

Mulan: *to Shang* Would you like to stay for dinner?
Grandma Fa: *offscreen* Would you like to stay forever?

LOL...the only problem I had with the movie was the matchmaker scene. Maybe it's just me, but the girls' outfits there looked way more Japanese than anything else, especially with the painted faces. But then, do they do the exact same thing in China? I wouldn't know; I really don't know anything about the Chinese culture...

writer's block, movie, school
