Sneaking in for a nice fast update; I'll be allowed back on the computer fulltime starting the week after this, so I hope to talk to you all then!
Play rehearsals have been going better, now that Eugene is learning his lines. We open this Friday!! Not only will my parents and Grandma be seeing it, but our family friends Ken & Silvia will be driving all the way from Pittsburgh (3 hour drive) to watch! In the meantime, rehearsals will be from 6 to 10 every night except Thursday, and then 2 hour cast calls before each performance night.
I've had myself a nice busy weekend, social life-wise. Yesterday I went to a surprise birthday party for two kids I know (I guess you could say they're my friends, but not my close friends). It was awesome. They had it in this nice big club/warehouse, the workplace of the stepmother of one of the people who planned the party. We had cake, chips, and pizza. Each table had a deck of cards and poker chips on it, there was a live band for awhile (and a nice big speaker system and CD player when they weren't there), and they had rented one of those inflatable moon-bounce things! I gave Marc a cow-shaped ornament (he likes cows a lot) and Nicki a tin with gnomes on it, filled with strawberry creamsavers. I played a game of poker with some of my friends, went on the bounce castle part of the time and spent some more time watching some of the crazed teenage boys on the bounce castle...wrestlemania on acid. And Marc and Nicki got cake thrown at them, and a lot of cameraphone pictures were taken.
Today I saw "The Grudge" with Rachel finally. Oh...My...GODS. Whoever said that The Grudge is not really scary needs to be shot. They are crazy!! I lost count of how many scenes of that movie I ended up watching through my spread fingertips. Admittedly, I'm a little more skittish than most...but still!! I honestly don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep properly tonight. If I hear anything that even sounds remotely like a cat or a death-rattle gasp I'm going to have a bloody heart attack. What I found really creepy about this movie is the nature of the ghost-curse that was on the house...it kills anyone who has been in the house. That means, even if you only visit the house once, even if you don't actually live there, it doesn't matter...it will follow you. The one lady visited the house just once because her brother and his wife were moving in, but the ghosts followed her and attacked her on her way home from work, and then finally killed her when she was locked inside her own apartment. Creeeeepy. I should've known a movie that started off with a guy throwing himself off his apartment balcony could only go down from there.
Not to diss The Grudge though...it was a great movie. But that's because I like being scared, and it did scare me, a LOT ^^;;
