Finally saw Inception the other day.
Dr. Just-Friends came into town for an afternoon/evening so after I got off of work we met up with
machi_neko and caught a late show and then had dinner at Applebees.
I though it was a very enjoyable, visually stimulating, action packed and just plain awesome movie. Kind of thinky, but not in the way that makes you feel like the film is just trying to prove how smart it is.
I also know who Arthur and Eames are in context, and understand why everyone on my flist is shipping them.
I don't know if there's supposed to be a 'debate' regarding the ending of the story or not, btws, but for the record I come down fully 110% on the side of
it fell. Shut your face.
After seeing the movie, Dr. Just-Friends was like "FYI, you will have weird dreams tonight. After seeing Inception everyone does."
And, yeah, he was right. Like most of my dreams I pretty much lost all of it once I hit morning and was fully awake. But I do recall them being bizarre, vivid (I normally don't dream in full color. I just...don't, idek. But I'm pretty sure I saw some blues and greens in there. Maybe even some oranges. Which is personally rare to say the least.), and shifting from one unconnected scenario to the next.
Also I think I might have woken up and fallen immediately asleep again several times - or possibly I was just dreaming that part? Maybe I was dreaming about dreaming? Whoa, headtrip.
Obligatory passing-along of things I found on my flist:
Various artists' interpretations of Law & Order plot summaries. Some are hilarious, some are just plain clever and a lot are interesting to look at. I think my favorites are "Detectives Look for a Racist", "A Complicated Murder Case", "McCoy Attempts to Convict Two Bounty Hunters", "Goren Takes on a Chess Master" and "Briscoe and Green Search for Lost Customer".
And there's this amusing meme-image courtest of
isis2015:
(I got stuck with either a digital camera or my checkbook. Clearly, I am DOOMED.)
And finally - you know, Legend of the Seeker may still continue to be a show I just really have no interest in watching, but damn if it doesn't vid fantastically:
The Name of the Game by
bradcpu I have the next two days off but then after that the coming week is going to be busy, since I've been scheduled for 35 hours (I typically get around 15-20).
I plan to spend what free time I do have rewatching all of my Avatar: The Last Airbender DVDs, since I finally ordered the last volume and it should be arriving soon, and I want the rest of the mythology fresh in my mind for when I watch the conclusion.
