I love how I said I was going to reach a hiatus point by the first week of August, and the month is more than half over by now. And by "love", I mean not. But oh well. Just three more parts, and it's comin'.

AAAAAAAH! LADY, JESUS. I feel like I have to stagger around dramatically for like five minutes straight to communicate my emotional state right now, zounds!

I was just readin' along, all, 'La la la, new fic, hurrah!' and then suddenly she was SHOT and aaaughhhhhh! I read this whole thing in a madwoman frenzy. I cannot communicate how soul-crushed Dominic made me, Jesus! The tone in which he says this is sharp and furious, like he plans on shooting the doctor if he doesn’t agree. That made me, like, simultaneously laugh and need to clutch my heart and sigh torturedly because oh, Laurence Dominic. He was so SOUL-WRENCHING. And I loved Claire coming in and talking to him, and Topher and Dominic talking about their feelings, aaaaah!, and oh God, the whole last scene just like -- like -- jeez. I think I may have actually literally gasped when she told him she was Ms. Lonely Hearts, because I was not expecting that one at all, and oh, it was so poignant considering the circumstance! GOD I LOVE THEM

Haha, I'll admit, the beginning is clearly tailored for the moment Adelle gets shot to be a nice comes outta nowhere bang, so, I'm glad to hear I was able to shock and distress you with that. (In my head, everything leading up to the moment where she goes down is, like, the opening of the episode: you're just watching along, lalala, waiting for the plot to fold, and then BANG, and she falls, and Boyd's yelling, annnd...title sequence. And the hypothetical audience is just sitting there, "Wait, wait, what? Huh?? Did they just...huh??" Er, or that was what I was going for, anyway.)

oh, Laurence Dominic. He was so SOUL-WRENCHING.

I know, right? I'm so EVIL. Mwahaha. But still, it gratifies me greatly to hear that I was able to successfully do what I wanted in capturing and conveying his pain, to the point where you were really feelin' it.

It seems like everyone who crosses somewhere even remotely into Nicole's sphere gets the pain brought on soon after, huh? (Actually, it's more like anyone unfortunate enough to associate with her poor older stepbrother...) Glad you liked it and all the character stuff.

This changes things, and I'm really curious how the Dom/Nicole relationship will change after this.

It certainly should bring on some change, shouldn't it? Nicole already made it pretty clear she wanted to cut the ties, and even if he was unwilling before, you have to wonder how Dominic will feel about her now.

I knew, from the past fics, that Nicole's going to shoot somebody sooner or later but I didn't expect that. OMGGGGGGG. What is Dominic going to do now? NICOOOOOOLLLLEEEEE. I felt sorry for you before now I'm just enraged, but at the same time, I'm also feeling sorry because Laurence's going to let go of you now and all you're left with is your emotionally-stunted dad. Huhuhuhu.

Behind them, the music strikes a dramatic note as two actors on the screen face off.

“Wait a minute.” Frowning, Mr. Ballard leans toward Boyd. “Did he just say that he’s sterile?”

Boyd rubs his chin, never taking his eyes off the television. “But then, who’s the father of Christine’s baby?”

This made me LOL. lololol. Ballard and Boyd are oap opera buddies. Heee

Softly, she says, “I’m sorry I kept you waiting.”

Seriously I about had a heart attack when Adelle got shot! and my brain went into this state of panic ('Surely she would kill Adelle off, I mean she
couldn't OMG WHAT IF SHE DID! evilevilevilevil NO! ADELLE CAN NOT DIE! It's physically impossible! TRUFAX! She's totally going to be ok! She has to be ok! Ok, remember to breathe...')

Haha. Honestly, I wasn't even trying too hard to make it seem like I was going to kill Adelle, I figured most people would guess I couldn't let that happen. (For a myriad of other reasons, but mainly: dear LORD, what that would do to poor Dom.) I wanted that original shocking moment of her being shot, sure, but I figured tension-wise it was all downhill from there. But I'm gleeful in a sadistic way I was able to "get" you nonetheless. I take that as a compliment of the highest order.

Glad to hear the Miss Lonelyhearts reveal thing worked for you, too.
