Oops. Once again, things have actually happened in my life outside of fandom and fanfiction that I've completely neglected to mention.
Well. Not really, to tell the truth. All I've managed to do over the past month is procrastinate whole bunches and, through reasons that more or less boil down to complete and utter laziness, not see any of my friends for an entire month.
This is the kind of thing you kick yourself for when you realize it, because I'm moving out of Columbus and back to Cleveland in exactly two weeks. Who knows when I'll get to see any of them again after that? Sigh.
I did spend an afternoon/evening with
geministep last Sunday, though. So, that was nice. We went to Borders so I could finally spend some gift cards I'd been hanging onto and some of my graduation money as well...I walked out with a shit-ton of comics and graphic novels, since while I may still have a massive "to read" pile, I can polish through a nice thick comic in a couple hours, easy, so I don't even think that counts.
So, I've already finished reading the third volume of Jack of the Tales (lol sworded!), the first two volumes of Beauty Pop, the second volume of Fairy Cube and the fifth volume of Pet Shop of Horrors: Tokyo.
Still waiting for me to devour them is the third, final volume of Fairy Cube, volumes four and five of Captive Hearts, and volumes four thru seven of Rosario + Vampire.
I also picked up this really nifty book on diseases (
cooler than it sounds, I swear) that I'm probably going to let Susan borrow first, since I doubt I'll be getting to it for awhile.
After shopping, we had dinner at Max & Erma's and headed back to her place, where we watched Coraline. I had never actually seen the movie before (somehow, I missed it when it came out), but damn. That was just all kinds of spooky, creepy and messed-up in the best possible kind of way. I really liked the visuals, too, and of course you know I was all over the storytelling elements and fairy tale nods. Very well done. I enjoyed it highly.
In regards to other social outlets, I plan to go to the Dublin Celtic Festival on Sunday, and possibly tomorrow as well, and I know several of my friends are going to be there, so there's that.
Otherwise, I'm should probably look into doing some other things, if I have any desire to cram some half-decent friend-time into the next twelve days or so. Maybe going to see some movies, or throwing a party or two. We'll see.
Oh, and hey, as long as I'm here since well, all the cool kids (aka, my flist *wink*) are doin' it (and I'm curious to see what people will come up with):
