It's Swine Flu We're Supposed To Be Worried About Now, Right?

Guys, animals that live on college campuses are officially messed up from all that human exposure. I'm just sayin'.

I had lunch at Panera today, and then I decided to walk over to Mirror Lake and feed the ducks with my leftover sourdough bagette. It's not that I didn't sort of already know how that would go, exactly...it's just that it's still kind of unnerving when it actually plays out.
Anyway, the point is, there were maybe ten or fifteen ducks and about five ducklings down there. I started out throwing crumbs to the two babies closest to me while the rest are at least seven feet away.
Within less than a minute, I've got every duck in the area pressing so close to me one of them was actually standing on my foot. Damn, but they are persistant little buggers. With no fear. Or concept of personal space.

I kept getting headlines of "Recent College Graduate Mauled To Death By Ducks" flashing in my head.

I'll be leaving early tomorrow morning with two friends from the Renn Guild to spend the weekend over in Illinois for a Faire. Looking forward to that (I get to be Mabel again, eheh heh heh), but obviously that means I won't be here for the weekend.

I'm going to try and knock out the fic for the lastest Lost Luau Queen before I go; I guess the other three will just have to wait until after the weekend.

And for those of you on my flist that may be wondering, no, I haven't forgotten about the next part in my Dollhouse series, either. I'm gonna try and work on it a little today, although I can definitely say you shouldn't be expecting anything back on that until early next week. (I know, I know - cliffhangers are a anxious-making place to be. I feel your pain.)

Talk to you all again on Monday!
