(Oh, I had a feeling I was going to make another of these eventually. Never could have predicted it would be for such an...interesting...movie, though.)
(Also FYI, I've actually had this done and sitting on my Juke for, like, ages now. But I sort of wanted a cover to it so I had to wait for
machi_neko to throw something together. So worth the wait.)
"Maggots. Vermin. You want the world for nothing..."
So, as anyone who reads my journal regularly has no doubt by now realized, a few months ago I saw this little movie called Repo! The Genetic Opera. And almost immediately, I fell in love with the crazy, scary, silly odd little fucked-up trio that is the Largo siblings: Luigi, Pavi and Carmela Amber.
They're insane. They're immature, they're selfish and, most important of all, they're very very dangerous. They're the children of the world's most powerful family, and while it's hard not to enjoy watching them, sometimes you really gotta wonder why you cheer.
But it's because, like almost everything else in Repo!, there's more to them than first appears on the darkly-colored exterior.
They're twisted, grotesque, and yet something about them really makes you feel for them.
They're damaged goods, playing out their eccentricities and their childish games on the big-screen, in a world where just because it's always night time doesn't mean the curtains ever shut. They're brilliant as much as they're failures, one fractured noisy soul stretched across three surgically-crafted and distorted bodies. They're the beautiful rich people that have none of the things you ever did keeping you sane. All of their lives from the day they were born they've always had everything, and nothing, that they ever wanted.
They're as much enemies as they are friends, a family made up of three individuals that are very much their own people as much as they are a unit. They hug just as often as they wrap their hands around each other's throats...both actions are done with equal true affection.
It's easy to imagine them killing one another. It's easy to imagine them fucking one another.
It's easy to see that they'd use every resource at their disposal, every ounce of their power, to utterly destroy anyone who dared to hurt one of them. When the chips are down, they've got each other's backs.
The monsters, the morons, the misunderstood. The murderer, the rapist, and the rich bitch - and the three scared confused children who never understood that one day they'd have to grow up that lurk underneath. These are the Largo siblings.
And this is my musical tribute to them.

when you're out with your friends
in your new mercedes-benz
and you're on drugs
and you show up late for school
'cause you think you're really cool

and you put on your headphones
and you step into the zone
when you're on drugs
but the world don't care
if you are or are not there
when you're on drugs

TRACK 05: "Sister", She Wants Revenge
he knew he should leave
that this could only turn cold
she was a bad bad girl
so he told her so
under the shadows of doubt
he had a whisper of lust
he said no touching tonight
she closed her eyes in his trust
she said tuck me in
he knew his judgement was sound
still he pulled back the sheets and said
you better lie down 'cause the angels are watching
she closed her eyes and said quit the talking
you can hurt me do whatever you like
TRACK 06: "Pts.Of.Authority", Linkin Park ft. Jay Gordon of Orgy

TRACK 08: "See You At The Show", Nickelback
after hours and alcohol
every club, we've seen 'em all
as long as we don't need to stand in line
party scenes and billboard dreams
the ladies love those limousines
you know they're gonna show up every time
we'll see you at the show
if you don't come we'll never know
you stand off in the back
you still stand out while you're wearing black
jump onto the bus
and ride around with all of us
we'll go out on the town
and light it up 'til we burn it down
TRACK 09: "For Heaven's Sake", Thriving Ivory
pull yourself together
before you set yourself apart
make every door you walk through
a living work of art
for heaven's sake
for heaven's sake there's more at stake
than we may ever learn
more footstops to hold onto
and corners to be turned
like weeping violins
you tremble and you shake
don't you dwell on the future
for it's miles away
for heaven's sake
