Sugar...
Yesterday, at Chrissy's request and with her twenty-dollar bill in hand, I made a stop at Borders and got her a bunch of the Harry Potter candy. Its frankly quite depressing how expensive they've made all of that stuff. I ended up spending a little over 17 bucks, and all that produced was two packs of Fizzing Whizbees (each one has three smaller packs of what are basically Pop Rocks), two things of Drooble's Best Blowing Gum (somehow I missed that they had that yesterday), one Chocolate Frog, a pack of Acid Pops (three lollipops), and a thing of Ice Mice (four pieces). I felt kinda bad for the cashier; none of the stuff was labeled, so I asked her what it cost and she was nice enough to do a price check for me...even then I miscalculated and had to put three diffrent things back after I got scanned in. But she was really nice about it ^_^;;
After school Chrissy and Lauren came back to my place and we had ourselves a mini candy buffet. The Acid Pops are like warheads; the first two or three seconds are sour enough to be painful, but then they turn into a normal green apple flavor. The Ice Mice are berry-flavored squares with a little sugar mouse inside...the berry part is nice but the pure sugar mouse is kinda sickening. Droobles is nice, but it has enough dye on it to stain your tongue (and even your fingertips if you're not careful) pretty blue for a bit. The Fizzing Whizbees come in three diffrent flavors; blueberry, strawberry, and orange. With a Diet Pepsi the three of us once again disproved the infamous "Pop Rocks and soda will make your stomach explode" myth...although it has the interesting effect of making the stuff explode really big in your mouth for a bit. Chrissy gave me her Chocolate Frog card, since she already had that one (Ignatia Wildsmith, inventor of Floo Powder).
After we made ourselves giddy on sugar, we rewatched my taped copy of "The Quill is Mightier" Xena epsiode. Lauren's starting calling me "Corinne: Warrior Chick", so I said that made her my bardic sidekick. So then she said if I was Xena and she was Gabrielle, Chrissy had to be Joxer. Chrissy didn't like that much...she said she's nothing like him, and besides she's not in love with Lauren, the way Joxer is with Gabreille. So she wanted to be Callisto. I said she didn't want to be Callisto, because Callisto is a crazy-ass freak...the *bad* kind of crazy. Finally, we settled on her being Aphrodite. But then Chrissy had to go and annoy me by pointing out the fact that Aphrodite lands on top of Ares twice in the epsiode we watched. So I'm all like "Dude, he's your *brother*!" But then we remembered that that doesn't have much bearing on the Greek Gods...
