Before I forget to mention: got to watch President (!!!) Obama's speech in my anthro class on Tuesday. Missed the actual swearing in part, but whatever. Great speech, really. I mean, great speech. Now just don't blow it OMG.
...Oh, yeah, so there was new Lost this week or something. I, uh, totally did not even know about that.
Well, thank god for the DVR. I'll be watching it tomorrow after work, most likely.
Also, I feel obligated by the Gods of Humiliation to tell you all this story: I've been sitting here for the past few hours mildly flipping out because I think I'm smelling aftershave from nowhere and no one I know that comes to this apartment wears aftershave so, recalling that roomie and I believe (given the, ah, state of the mess behind our couch when we moved in...yick) that the previous occupants were of the male persuasion, I'm starting to think that one of them must have died and the apartment is haunted. Yes, now, after two years of occupation. Hey man, who am I to try and understand how ghosts work?
But then finally I get up and go into the bathroom and realize that the smell is, in fact, emanating from the new bar of Irish Spring soap I just unwrapped (look, it was on sale).
So, um. There's that.
I believe Boyfriend Sam puts it the best: "My favorite part of this story is that you immediately jump to 'haunted'."
But anyway, went to Cincinatti on Sunday to see Repo! again, this time as part of the road tour, as in, the creator and director were there. SQUEE.
Originally
machi_neko and
eliara were going to drive down and join us, but Chrissy was driving and she wasn't feeling so great, so they couldn't make it unfortunatly. But me and Sam brought along our friends Rob and Kristin who had never seen it before so we could use the extra tickets, and a good time was had by all.
There were really hardcore fans there, like in costumes, or packing Zydrate cookies, or just wearing general goth/bondage/rocker gear. I myself was dressed as a "scalpel slut" in a brand-new corset I had purchased the day before at The Garden just for the occasion (I got
geministep to go with me, and thoroughly tramutized her, which I really only can call a bonus, honestly) and purple fishnets and stiletto boots and drawn-scars and all other crazy cyberpunk freak goodness. Pictures likely soon to come.
The movie showing was, um, very interactive, with people already trying callbacks and acting it out and whatnot. I was more entertained because I'd seen it before, I think...I'm not sure how first-timers might have felt (Kristin was a little mad when they talked over "Didn't Know I'd Love You So Much", for example).
There was also a talkback with Terrence Zdunich and Darren Lynne Bousman afterwards, and they showed us part of the little movie they made way back when to convince Lionsgate to even let them make Repo!. (Sam thinks they brought that for us on account of how every other Road Tour 3 stop is apparantly going to be graced with the presence of at least one of the cast - like, Alexa Vega was at the first three stops, and Bill Moseley's going to be on like half the freakin' tour with them, and Paul Sorvino, Ogre and Paris Hilton are going to join up with him for the L.A. stop...but apparantly don't nobody like Cincinatti, because we got squat.)
Before the movie I got a picture with Terrence Z, and afterwards I waited in line to have him and DLB to sign my poster. And while they were signing it, I was sort of babbling, because it's pretty awkward to just stand there while they do that. So I was talking about how, basically, Repo! is kind of the reason Sam and I are dating now, and they seemed pretty impressed by that.
And then they both turned to Sam and were like, "Dude, good job. Way to go."
So, yeah. Grave Robber and DLB totally called me hot, you guys. HIGHLIGHT OF THE YEAR.
