I'll Bet You Forgot About Me, Didn't You?
O, hai there!
Yes, it is me. Back from the dead, or so it seems.
Dear lord, what have I been up to since I posted last? Uhh...finished fall classes, went on break, had approximately FIFTY THOUSAND RELATIVES* show up for Christmas, went all the way to Chicago to see Repo! a second time, got nastily ill (thank you, extended family, for the germs), and started winter classes.
I read World War Z. Great book, but...kind of depressing just how accurate it all seems. And, ah, terrifying. That too.
GRE was taken and graduate school applications are all in. I'm honestly to the point where I feel like I don't even care any more, I'm just ready to be allowed to stop thinking about it. (Not that I plan on changing my default icon any time soon. At least until...I know. Come on, Boston U...)
I still don't know how much time I'll be spending around lj, by the by. I'm going to try and start reading my flist again (and I hope you'll pardon me if I don't make the effort to try and catch up on quite literally months of backlog, because, yikes) but I doubt I'll be posting much of my own. I'm still feeling kind of burned out on lj and fandom in general, for reasons I can't quite put my finger on. Plus, we are now on attempt number three of the Calculus class that would not be conquered, and I'm already feeling lost again. Ulgh.
That said, I am getting into some new things. Shortly before break started I discovered the Sueniverse (fear for your soul), and thanks to both the machinations of machi_neko, I have finallly been herded onto Facebook with the rest of the zombies. Moo.
Over on the not-real life continent, I am now big time into Repo! The Genetic Opera. In addition to taking a 48-hour road trip to see it a second time over break, I'm also planning on seeing it a third time on Sunday. In Cincinatti. In costume.

I've, um, also written some fanfic. Which can be found over at repofiction, in case you're curious. It's...genderswap. Shut up, I blame the fact that "From Whence She Began" was still on my brain. Not like a have a "thing" or anything. Mutter mutter grumble mutter...
But don't worry folks, I'm still into Battlestar. Still just as action-pack excited over tonight's premiere as the rest of you. And I'm sure I was as just "OH FRAKKING YEEEESS" happy with the webisodes as the rest of my flist no doubt was (somewhere, millari is making a sound only dogs can hear), too. HEE HEE HEE ♥
...AH OH MY GOD, ONLY TEN EPISODES LEFT, OH MY GOOOOODS.
Oh, and I somehow picked up a new boyfriend over break, too. He's a theater geek who has yet to be unfamiliar with a single level of crazy I've thrown at him so far. And he got me into Repo!. And he encourages genderswap fic. I MUST NEVER LET HIM GO.

*Okay, fine: In addition to me, the parents, Grandma, Uncle Dale & Aunt Linda and their two daughters, this year we also had Aunt Judy & Uncle Don, their three kids, three husbands of the various cousins, one one-year-old spawn of one cousin, and one dog. Grandma almost died trying to take care of them all, because that's what Grandma does, and dear lord I wish I was joking.
