Current temperature: 98.8. Not feeling so good.
Yesterday some of the Guildies got together in Cinci to see Gaelic Storm in concert. I was originally planning on going with them. Then Tuesday night I went out to my car with the intention of going to get more gas, and discovered it wouldn't start.
After a few moments of confused floundering, I remembered the last time I went out in the car, I spilled root beer all over the floor and turned the overhead light on to check it out. Which I must have left on after leaving the car. Mystery solved.
So no concert trip to Cinci for me. I wish I could say I was more disappointed, but I'd been having a lot of hesitant feelings about it to begin with, what with the extra money that'd be spent on concert tickets, the hassle of having to get right off work and then drive to someplace I'd never been before in order to make it on time (in my crappy car I'm not really supposed to be taking on freeway trips anyway), and me feeling under the weather since Tuesday. The car thing was just the final sign I really shouldn't be doing this, basically.
I haven't been working on any vidding or writing projects since Monday. I've just been feeling really tired. I took my temperature when I got home from work yesterday and it was 99.1. I went to bed at ten, couldn't fall asleep until 11 because my dry throat made me cough, and didn't get up until almost ten this morning.
I want to try and work on getting some writing done today, but we'll see how that goes. I don't feel very inspired at the moment. Especially for writing lesbian porn.
Some thoughts on last night's Project Runway:
- Kenley should have gone home. Her submission was a joke. It wasn't avant garde, it wasn't Aquarius, it was just ugly. And she's become a real primadonna on the runway lately, arguing with and talking over the judges. If she keeps it up, bet you she doesn't last another week. (Though I have to admit, I thought her "partner" silently waiting for her design to backfire on her was pretty awesome. I don't care if that makes me evil.)
- BLAYNE. IS GONE. HALLELUJAH, THANK THE LORD! I don't know who he was even kidding with that ridiculous Libra "outfit", anyway. Trust Blayne to take the zodiac challenge as a literal interpretation. Ick.
- I don't particularly think Jerell's design should gave won. I was much more impressed with Korto's, but then that admittedly might just be because it's blue and flowy and I am all about that. I was also a little underwhelmed's by Leanne's, but it obviously wasn't the worst, considering some of the crap we had going on this week.
- Daniel and Joe get paired together and actually produce one of what I considered the better designs. That...may be a sign of the apocalypse coming.
- I'm not particularly happy with Terri getting sent home, but if it's a choice between her and Suede...well, much as I've complained about him in the past, I've consistantly liked Suede's designs more than I've liked Terri's. And face it, this week she was a bitch. The blowout between her and Keith was nasty on both sides, but I'm totally siding with him on this, because she completely ignored him and therefore has no right to come back and complain that he didn't give her anything and "walked out on her".
- Generally, I just find it very interesting that some of the voted-off designers threw themselves whole-heartedly into helping their former competition on the challenge, while others, not so much. Particularly who did, and who didn't. Verrry interesting indeed.
- Also interesting: which designers from previous seasons they were able to get to come back as judges at the party. (Like, you know Jeffrey is completely over this shit.) Also the fact that some of them might have been...not exactly the best contestants on their representative seasons in the first place.
- ...what, no Geminis?? Twins gotta get some love! *pouts*
