Marley Was Dead To Begin With

Quick linkspam I need to take care of before I forget:
Inspired my new festive icon, clever BFF machi_neko brings us this image, proving that Centurions are apparantly equal opportunity when it comes to the celebrating of the winter holidays.

(I was also going to link to a picspam from hollywoodgrrl, except that she hasn't made it yet. :P)

Well, so I had my last exam on Wednesday morning (seriously morning; it started at 7:30) and I think I did pretty good.
I still haven't checked my grades to see if they've been posted yet, however, as that would mean getting the official confirmation of my already known failure in Chemistry. Bah.
I know I can't avoid it forever, but for right now I'm gonna keep avoiding it for just a little bit longer.

Haven't been up to much since that. I got to hang with eliara and we finally saw Enchanted which, yes, is indeed as many levels of awesome as you all kept telling me. It was just...fantastic. And squeeful. And more fantastic.
After that we played Munchkin with machi_neko and I finally won for the first time ever, and then we watched the Psych Christmas special which...well, the whole thing was pretty much as made of win as Psych typically is, but my favorite part, hands down, had to be the Psych-Out at the end. Good times!

Also, we all three of us agree that Tin Man* is awesome. And yesterday Mom discovered that our cats have fleas -_-

*(Seriously, guys: if you're fans of fantasy or sci-fi TV and haven't watched the Tin Man miniseries yet, you are completely missing out. I know my review of the first hour was a little lukewarm but it gets so much better once they get all the expository stuff out of the way and the story really moves. Plus, IMHO, the acting that wasn't A-game in the first hour improves dramatically from that point onward. And...look, a lot of really cool stuff happens, alright? That I can't really get into without giving the story away? But I whole-heartedly encourage and implore you: they're replaying it tomorrow, Sunday, starting at five in the afternoon. It's only three hours, and if you're not home, record it. You can thank me later.)

But anyway, that obviously means I'm back at home, and on dial-up for the rest of December.

Now, it seems like I always say I'm not going to be able to get online when I'm home, but you may or may not have noticed that I still have the tendency to update my own journal occasionally, particularly with fanfic. I should probably explain.
See, as previously stated, my home connection is sloooow. Today we are running at (checks) 45.2 Kbps. It has been known to get worse than that. Plus, some days my parents just gotta use the phone.
What that means is that I can probably manage to get on, update my own journal, reply to some comments, and check my email (assuming OSU webmail is working, because it can be kind of a bitch). However, there is no way in the world I can check my flist unless I have, say, about three or four hours and a lot of patience to spare. And even then it's not always worth it, on account of about 2/3 of any images will never load all the way, downloading a song can take an hour, and don't even get me started on vids, YouTube, or links to pretty much any other webpage. I don't even attempt going in my communities, usually.
Of course, this is all subject to change if I can visit my mom at work and use the library computers, which I can typically manage a couple of times during the span of a holiday.

So the long and short of it is that I'll probably be updating if I have any fic to post or if something I think is worth posting about happens so I can share it while it's still timely, and if you comment to my journal I'll probably reply though it may take awhile, and if anyone emails me I'll still get it. But you probably won't be seeing much of me in comments on your own journals until January rolls around.

But you know that I'm still with you all in spirit anyway, even if that spirit isn't a virtual one.
So, until the new year rolls around and I can obsessively be at one with the internet, I wish you all a joyous holiday season. May you and your loved ones be safe and blessed, may nothing but good times lay before you, and may all your most heartfelt wishes come true.

Seasons greetings, everyone! 'Tis the time to be nothing but merry.
