Sweet googly moogly, y'all have to stop having lives or somethin'.
Three days and I had to plow through 125 entries to catch up with flist. Three days.WHEW. Well now that that's done and I'm all caught up, there will be a post coming later tonight or early tomorrow about what's been up with me (a quick preview, in brief: not much ( Read more... )

Dunno, but I've got a friend who runs a fic claims community for people who want to write fic/fanfic (any fandom, any genre) inspired be the descriptions they use! XD

That's actually a pretty clever idea...I've seen some pretty interesting descriptions on the site, and it'd be quite easy to use them as inspiration.

(Crap. Must...not...create...more...fic to be written...)

In theory I'm obsessed with BPAL, but in actuality, it's all too heavy for me.

Now that's a Zen answer if I ever heard one.

BPAL is beautiful. A little on the expensive side, and there's a wait, but that stuff lasts forever. My favorites are 'Water of Notre Dame' (a light, strange smell that's both woodsy and not, but it has hints of musk that I like a lot and stays on all day), 'Sin' (a warm smell of cinnamon and patchouli that makes me want to dance and...do stuff), and 'Penitence' (a clear, nearly sweet smell that does somehow remind me of newfound purity). The best recommendation, however, is to buy a pack of what are called Imp's Ears. They're small sample packs of six teeny vials that run about about 24.00 for the set and let you try a whole bunch of everything until you decide what you like.

BPAL's great. It's the only perfume that I'll wear any longer.

Hmm, interesting. Do you get to choose what scents they put in the Imp's Ears, or is it luck of the draw?

And what's all this I keep hearing about people trading/giving Imps to each other vis online circles? Know anything about that?

(Personally, I was very intrigued by the description for 'Cheshire Cat' from the Mad Tea Party collection...it sounded like something I'd like)

What goes into the Imp's Ears is completely up to you, it just minimizes your risk a little bit since you're buying based upon descriptions and thus don't want to jump in with a whole bottle of something that you'll wind up not liking (since they're oils rather than traditional perfume and tend to react idiosyncratically with individual skins). I don't trade Imps myself, but it's the same basic principle: if you receive something and it turns out that you don't like it, you can swap it out for a new one with someone else in the same situation rather than buying new stuff. I think that there's an LJ comm dedicated to swapping, but I'm not sure.
