First of all. Thanks for the rec!!!

Second, I am here strictly on business. I'm here to pimp SGA in all its glory.

Wanna know how I got involved with the Stargate verse? After finishing an episode of Farscape on DVD one night, my roommates and I flipped on the regular telly, and what was on but SG-1. Claudia Black was there, so was Ben Browder, and this was episode 4 or 5 of Season 9 (that's Season 9 out of 10!). And that was my intro to Stargate. Seriously, I just jumped in, and Wikipedia helped A LOT!

Jumping into SGA isn't that big a deal. Just wikipedia some stuff because there's a tiny bit of history with some characters (like Weir and McKay) and a couple words that are important (ZPM), but because its a spin-off, they start fresh. And the piplot is absolutely amazing. Honestly, one of the strongest pilots in my book. Just give it a go. ckeck it out. It looks better than SG-1 (deliberately) it's shot differently than SG-1 (again, delierately) and imo it's more daring than SG-1. And this is what you want, coming from the school of Whedon and Moore.

Havw I rambled enough? :D

Okay, okay, I think you've pretty much convinced me :P

Honestly, I always thought SG-1 and SGA did look pretty interesting, but I was never quite interested enough to pick up another show since I was under the impression that it was pretty involved. But I guess I've got another summer assignment now...

(Okay I've just gotta ask one thing though: what is UP with the wraith? Seriously. All I know is they're like, amphibian-people-alien things with a zombie-like level of man-eating.)

Hahaha! Yes, they look that way, right? Well they're actually quite the scary awesome villains. We only know so much about them, but basically it's Sheppard's fault the galaxy is overrun by them (they hibernate and he woke 'em up due to various factors seen in the pilot) so it's interesting that way. There's a whole cool aspect to how they evolved in the first place (lets just say the good guys made them...hmmm...reminds me of the cylons...) But basically, they're like space vampires. They suck away years of your life and they're really hard to kill. So yeah, they pwn. :D

Oh, why am I not surprised?

But basically, they're like space vampires. They suck away years of your life and they're really hard to kill.

And isn't there a whole bunch of other weird stuff going on with them too, like I think that one chick is part wraith and the other guy was turning into a wraith at some point and...look, clearly I just need to wait until I can watch the episodes.

And, if I can do a random subject change as long as I'm bending your ear...how do you capture a clip in VDub with the audio on and without it saving all weird and fragmented? Or is that impossible? -_-

*hangs head in shame* I actually don't know. I mean I know it's possible, but I haven't been able to figure it out and I've never really bothered asking around. I've had it work once, and the source material was from Sky One, so whatever the Brits use to encode, VDub likes. Sorry, man. I fail. :/
