Welcome to my journal, the "Stuff I Thought You'd Like To See" edition!
First of all, because I know there are plenty of 1) good writers and 2) fans of craaaazy crossovers on my friends list, I feel that I simply must link to
whackapetrelli, aka "The Inappropriate Petrellis Challenge".
It's a challenge community, where you can write a fic crossing over Heroes with whatever fandom you'd like, no matter how nutso.
The premise? That after the Claire reveal towards the end of last season, well, anyone could be a secret Petrelli relative. Anyone.
Here, I'll let the mod (
m_butterfly) speak for herself:
Loosely inspired by the Inappropriate Elf Challenge and gratuitously egged-on by canon, the Inappropriate Petrellis Challenge asks--and answers--the question: why should only the characters in Heroes itself get the joyful surprise of discovering they, too, are a Petrelli?
Did Peter and Nathan's uncle David change his last name to Xanatos because it sounded cooler? Did Angela Petrelli have a kid with a Time Lord when she was younger? Is Nathan actually the father of two super-healing blond cheerleaders, with the other having bonus super-strength? Is Peter and Nathan's half-sister Allison Cameron even aware of her mother's secret affair, let alone that she has superpowers?
If you can think of the remotest way to make it work--and what the hell, even if you can't--you can make anybody a Petrelli, no matter how inappropriate.
Well, what are you all standing around here for? Go sign up!
(What fandom did I sign up for? Well, see, I figure since it won't be until next January that we get a canon answer as to what Starbuck was up to when she was on Earth...)
Hey,
machi_neko and all my other BSG-fan friends, you have got to see the latest installment of
the video blog. Apparantly David Eick's been amiss from the set lately, and of course there's only one real way the cast can react to this situation...by mocking the ever living hell out of it. Gods, but I love the BSG cast. They're right up there with the PotC people for looking like they must be so much fun to hang out with, as they are made of the pretty and the funny and the awesome. Jaimie! Grace! Trucco! Alessandro!
Oh, and my latest one true love James Callis? Totally kills in this blog. Srsly. He's got glasses and a doofy hat and longer hair (why did he chop it all off after they wrapped up this season, dear God, WHHHY) and is absolutely made of adorkable and CUTE. And he does SILLY IMPRESSIONS.
AND WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE, READING?? GO WATCH.
Also, for that odd niche among you of which I am a fellow, there is this rather good
Gaeta/Baltar fanvid on YouTube set to Anna Nalick's "In The Rough".
(Have I mentioned that I love Anna Nalick's music like burning? It's like someone reached inside my head for the "two great tastes that go together" folder to make this vid. I am almost scared.)
And finally, for
persephone_blue (and all you other comics geeks), even though I'm sure someone must have showed you this by now, a news blog article that ran on April Fool's day...
Neil Gaiman One Step Closer to Sainthood.
"Truly the Holy Ghost works though the Venerable Gaiman's hands."
