Don't Be A Bummer, Summer

Well, I officially came home from school about a week or so ago. Exams went about as well as I expected.
So, yeah...I have survived my first year of college.

Summer has started, and it is miserably hot here, ya'll. Thank you once again, crazy Ohio weather, for however would we entertain ourslves without the year long guessing game you so generously provide?
Right now I'm barricading myself in my room with the AC on; I'd take a shower, but Mom finally broke down and started me on Proactiv, and I really don't want to have to go through the three-phase process again if I wash the stuff off. Particularly on my first day of using.

My birthday is tomorrow; I'll be 19. So another year older, another year...somewhat wiser. But mostly not.
We're having my party tonight instead of tomorrow, since Mom doesn't want to mess with it being on the same day as Father's Day (which happens all too frequently, by the way...it's just the way that date seems to hit). So in about an hour and a half, five of my buddies are coming over to hang out. We've got chicken wings and spring rolls, and I rented Holes and Shaun of the Dead. Instead of cake, we've got cream puffs.
Tomorrow, there'll be a Father's Day/Family Birthday dinner with me, Grandma, and the 'rents. Then there will be cake. And hopefully, much of the presents.

I've checked out my grades online...an A in Russian Lit and a B in Anthro 202, but a got a D+ in my Anthro 301 human variation course. Blaaaargh. So, I'll have to take that one again. Hopefully, I get the grade removed from my record via the "Freshman Forgiveness" program at OSU, so it doesn't frack up my GPA too much.

Next week is going to be...interesting. I might be getting a job at this pizza store nearby. I also might be going to a cabin in PA for three days with eliara and machi_neko. One may or may not depend upon the other. Plus, I have a dentist appointment on Friday, so I can finally see what the frell is going on with my jaw.

So, what have I been doing with my summer so far, you ask? Well...I finally got around to starting The Gargoyles Saga (please pray for my soul). It took my about four days or so to read TGS "Season 1", which was 33 stories long. Long stories. There was a lot of staying up until 4 am involved.
(Now I'm just debating how to go about continuing to read it...should I backtrack and read the first "seasons" of Pendragon and Timedancer as well? Or just keep going with TGS season 2? I already read the first two stories of TGS season 2, but then I got to the third one and there were quotes from Pendragon in the "previouslys".)

Well, however I decide to proceed, I'm thinking I'm going to have to take a break from this particular story for awhile, because like most fantastically imaginitive, well-written, organized, entertaining and in-depth fanfics...it's completely killing my own muse and making it impossible for me to write anything. Plus, there's that whole sleep-deprivation thing.

Well, hopefully I'll be seeing all of you guys around this summer, either in the real world or the virtual one. TTFN.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go put on some clothes.

(Hey, I told you it was hot.)
