So, I'm getting a D in French. And some of teachers don't think I'm applying myself fully...truthfully, I'm not. But taking away my computer privelages until my grades get back up is NOT gonna change anything, Mom and Dad!! And doing so right before spring break starts is just plain demented. But I'm not even trying to explain it to them...they'll see for themselves that my proscrastination and lack of effort have very little to do with the computer when nothing changes.
I can't help it; I just can't seem to make myself give a damn. Whenever I get a sucky grade at school, my first and usually only thought is "Damn, here comes another lecture from the parents", not "Oh no, there goes my GPA!". I know I should care...I kinda wish I could make myself care. But I can't. Maybe there's something wrong with me...
Well, anyway, I won't be updating this thing for awhile obviously. I can check email but other than that I can only use it for school. But I plan on sneaking on a few times when they're not around anyway.
Coming up I have three quizes and a math test in the next two days, and after that break starts. I'll be spending the first three days at the Thespian Conference with my Drama Club. Then I have two college visits. But the rest of break should be scott free...I don't foresee any major homework assignments over the vacation.
Oh, I read this interesting book called "Faerie Wars" today...it gave me an idea for a possible insight into the Harry Potter-verse. See, remember the Hand of Glory from Book 2? Well, thanks to a reference in this book, I concluded that Hands of Glory are not completely made up by JKR but do in fact exist in magical superstition. What a Hand of Glory does is put everyone in a house asleep until the candle it holds is extinguished...a handy thieves tool, no? This is where my theory comes in. See, in the book, Draco was looking at the Hand and the salesclerk was giving him the whole pitch, trying to get him to buy it. He started to say it was a good tool for thieves and then Lucius cut him off. Now, if memory serves, he cut him off BEFORE he could explain what exactly it is the Hand DOES. And any good HP Sleuth could tell you the number one important rule in figuring out the HP books is if someone gets interrupted, its IMPORTANT. So I think the Hand of Glory will somehow come in in a later book. I need to recheck the scene in CoS to be completely sure, tho...
