You've started it already? *blinks* Wow, that was a wee bit faster than I anticipated. Before I get into my review, I just have to say... I screwed up taping Lost last week! Damnit for not watching things as they air. *sigh* Okay, venting over. On to the review...
and McGee came perilously close to screaming like a little girl. Oh God, poor McGee! Considering his attitude toward Tony at the end of "Nightfall", that must have been very, very disturbing. A nice start, though. I liked your description of McGee's apartment.
in the absence if his presence... Did you mean "in the absence of his presence"? (And if I were going to be really nitpicky, which of course I never am, absence of presence sounds odd. Maybe 'cause the words are so similar sounding?)
I love this line... McGee wished DiNozzo would just make up his damn mind for once. So perfect. So perfectly McGee.
“That’s another myth,” Tony interrupted McGee’s frightening train of thought, sighing like he was disappointed in him. How sad is it that my sister and I

How sad is it that my sister and I were discussing that particular myth as if it were "fact" the other day?
It is fact, depending on you talk to...in the Whedon-verse (Buffy, Angel), it's very much fact, for example. The thing you have to keep in mind with the vampires in this story is that they're my own creations and I'm inventing my own vampiric universe with its own set of rules for them as I go along...so I'm picking and choosing which myths get to be facts, and which don't. But a general rule of thumb about the "invitation" rule? In classic vampire mythology, it's fact. In the reinvented stories of more modern novels, it's usually dismissed as a myth.
Happy Meals with legs?!?!?! Hee! I so love that phrase. I think it needs an icon.
Wish I could claim it fully as mine, but I'm 99% sure that I'm quoting that from somewhere...I think Spike on "Buffy" referred to humans as Happy Meals with legs once.
And because I'm not going to quote everything, let me just say that from when McGee started to reminisce over the picture to the

Poor Tony. It's just like him to want everything to be normal. I just can't wait to see where you take Tony's relationship with them. I can't even guess what you're going to do. (And you should totally drop your other fics ;)
I think Spike on "Buffy" referred to humans as Happy Meals with legs once.
Yup. In "Becoming". He teamed up with Buffy because he didn't want Angelus to end the world cuz this one was so nice with "Happy Meals on legs."
But it's a great line and I'm glad you used it. It is such a perfect description for a vampire mentality.
Ah ha! I knew it had to be a Spike line...it's just so Spike.

But then what would the readers of those fics say? :P Eh, I'll take it under advisement...
"Metamorphosis" is a borderline epic fic for ABC's Lost. I started writing it about halfway through the first season, so it's severely AU by now, but since when have I let that stop me?
Don't feel silly, feeling that was...well, kind of the intention...
I rewatched Mind Games and feel all sad for poor Tony, putting on his "don't think about it" bravado. ::pets Tony::
Just watched that myself last night (ncisepisodes is my crack dealer, yo), and...sniff. The part where he was telling McGee "Well, Kate packed the gear, so you'll have to ask-" and then he just stops and walks off. ;_;
And now you made him all upset and rejected and who else is he going to go to?
*!spoiler!*A female bounty hunter who goes by the name of Mad Max, perhaps?*!spoiler!* Gee, I don't know...
You can really pull emotions from your readers, you know that?
