How ironic. Here I am, moved out of my home and living away from my family for the first time ever...it's been almost two weeks, and I haven't cried once yet.
Now I'm crying...because of a TV show.
I finally saw that NCIS episode I wanted to see so much.
Thank you so, so much for the download and tips,
_tweeter_, though my gratitude is hard to properly express as I sit here with tears staining my face. But thank you.
I've probably been a huge pain to all you guys lately, bugging you about downloads and programs and all that crap, but if I can just ask for one last thing, I would be forever grateful:
Those of you that make music videos with video clips, how do you do it? What program do you use?
I don't care how much crap I have to go through, how many new things I must download or tricks I must learn; I must make a Kate farewell video to Vanessa Carlton's "Twilight".
Yes, those of you that watch the show will recognize the title's significance, but that's only an ironic and somewhat fortitous coincidence. The lyrics to this song...it's the perfect farewell song. The perfect moving on song. And for some reason I've had it stuck in my head for the past few days, but hearing it in my mind as I watched the funeral scene in that episode...I have to do it.
In case anyone's interested, here are the words, but if you really want to understand why this song moves me so, you have to download the song. The words only hold half the power...it's the melody that puts in the final chink, that makes me break down and cry.
I was stained by a role
In a day not my own
But as you walked into my life
You showed what needed to be shown
And I always knew what was right
I just didn't know that I might
Peel away and choose to see with such a different sight
And I will never see the sky the same way
And I will learn to say goodbye to yesterday
And I will never cease to fly if held down
And I will always reach too high
'Cause I've seen
'Cause I've seen twilight
I never cared
Never wanted
Mever sought to see what flaunted
So on purpose
So in my face
Couldn't see beyond my own place
And it was so easy not to behold
What I could hold
But you taught me
I could change whatever came within these shallow days
And I will never see the sky the same way
And I will learn to say goodbye to yesterday
And I will never cease to fly if held down
And I will always reach too high
'Cause I've seen
'Cause I've seen...
And as the sun shines through
And pushes away and pushes ahead
It fills the warmth of blue
And leaves a chill instead
And I never knew that I could be so blind to all that is so real
And as illusioned eyes I see there is so much to be revealed
And I will never see the sky the same way
And I will learn to say goodbye to yesterday
And I will never cease to fly if held down
And I will always reach too high
'Cause I've seen
'Cause i've seen twilight
I was stained by a role
In a day not my own
And as you walked into my life
You showed what needed to be shown
And I always knew what was right
I just didn't know that I might
Peel away and choose to see with such a different sight
And I will never see the sky the same way
And I will learn to say goodbye to yesterday
And I will never cease to fly if held down
And I will always reach too high
'Cause I've seen
'Cause I've seen...
Twilight
