As you can all see, the icons have been changed yet again. I plan to keep this current set for the remaining week or so until school starts, at which point they will no doubt be swapped out once more.

I still cannot believe they canceled the NCIS rerun of "SWAK" to show some special on Hurricane Katrina last night. Okay, yes, I know how bad that sounds...but come on, Katrina is officially on the news all the time anyway. Did they really need to shoehorn in yet another hour of television dedicated exclusively to the tragedy? Besides, did this really spring up as a last-minute thing, for crying out loud? Both of my TV guides still had NCIS listed as playing at its usual time...if they were going to pre-empt it, why couldn't they have said something?? And why does NCIS get to be the canceled show, anyway? They really had to play Big Brother and INXS, but could spare NCIS? Who in the world heads up quality control on that station??
Besides, it's the episode where Tony gets pneumonic plague! Who doesn't love that episode?! Gods know I do! (though my 'rents were actually disappointed he *didn't* die after that one...they definately don't share my DiNozzo love...)
I'm going to be sulking about this until next week, I just know it...
I found this rather...interesting quote in Dom's rant section over at MegaTokyo on a strip from about a week or so ago today:
So my family rented a house up by the Russian River for the weekend, so we could throw our cousins a big birthday bash.
The house was one of those "I've only seen this in pictures of the front yard and back yard" deals, and it ended up being pretty creepy in person. At the end of the driveway was a plaster deer statue, which I wouldn't have remembered if it weren't for the fact that it had two heads, and one was screaming.
I had to share that because...dude. I mean, can any of you guys even picture that, memtally?? Because I sure as hell can't.
In other news, this morning my Dad was watching the news before he left for work at like, 5:30 am, and they were doing a thing for the fifth person to call in won the Lost Season One DVD. He called.
He won.
So now I officially have a Lost DVD waiting for me...somewhere. Dad's not sure when he's going to have a chance to pick it up. I might not even end up getting it before the season starts. But who cares? I have it, after all...until recently, I still didn't think I was going to have the funds to get it for myself and would be forced to ask for it as an Xmas gift.
